13th Annual Rhone Rangers San Francisco Tasting

Do you like American Rhone varietal wines? Do you know what they are? If you're not sure, maybe you've tried some without knowing. If you're a fan of red wines and have tried Syrah, you have tasted a red Rhone wine. If you're a fan of white wines and have tasted Viognier, you have tasted a white Rhone wine. To encourage the discovery of the many varietals of Rhone wines, the Rhone Rangers present their 13th Annual Rhone Rangers San Francisco Tasting on March 27 & 28, 2010.

Saturday, March 27, you can choose from two seminars or attend both! The first, Guidelines for Pairing Wines with Local Dishes, features many wines including Sonoma County's Arnot-Roberts, and Arrowood. This seminar also includes small plates of delicious bites from Sonoma's the Girl & the Fig. The second seminar on Saturday, Grenache, Red, White, and Pink!, includes Sonoma County favorites Quivira, and Unti. Saturday's events end with a Reception and Formal Dinner with 15 Rhone Rangers winemakers catered by the Girl & the Fig. On Sunday, March 28, the last seminar, The Ageability of American Rhone Wines, invites you to hear what Rhone Ranger winery members have learned and to taste their library wines. Reserving a place in this seminar also gives you access to the main event before the general public. The main event of the weekend is the Grand Tasting. Over 2000 people are anticipated to enjoy tasting wines from a list of over 100 Rhone Rangers wineries that includes Cline Cellars, Montemaggiore, Pride Mountain, and Ridge Vineyards. Along with wine there will be tasty bites of cheese, chocolates, and more. For details on any events for this weekend, and to purchase tickets, click here.
