Plan A Statement Event at Dairymen’s Bank in Valley Ford

Beautiful inside

With the recession winding down, catering and private dining inquiries have picked back up, and with gusto, say Valley Ford Hotel owners Brandon and Shona Guenther. So much so that the couple has expanded past their inn, and past their restaurant inside the inn, Rocker Oysterfeller’s Kitchen + Saloon.

They have opened the former Dairymen's Bank building as a private and special event venue, going after a brand new corporate market. It’s a new life for the historic structure that was built in 1893, and most recently was the Sonoma Coast Fish Bank, a seafood and provisions market that the Guenthers opened in 2010, and then headquarters for the Guenther’s Firefly Fine Catering.

Grand outside

Valley Ford isn’t large, stretching just 2.6 miles in a rural pocket east of Bodega Bay. But Guenther sees plenty of opportunity for creative-minded companies wanting a unique place to host board meetings, staff retreats, and special parties. With the seven-room Valley Ford Hotel next door, the space is perfect for management getaways, for corporate teams in brainstorming or strategic planning sessions, and as a presentation facility.

The bank is a fully functioning conference facility complete with wifi, projection equipment and dry erase boards, and the Guenthers note that they can provide continental breakfasts, coffee stations, plated or box lunches, and multi course dinners.

The only risk is that clients may have a hard time focusing on work. Besides the bucolic beauty of the town, and the delicious seafood at Rocker Oysterfeller’s, the building is magical, still featuring its original bank vaults, chandeliers, skylights and towering ceilings.

Tip: Go convenient and go green, too. Plan a corporate car pool with a Pure Luxury Transportation limo, Town Car or charter shuttle bus.
