The Annual Petaluma Antiques Faire Never Gets Old

Come together for antiques

One of the many wonderful things about living in Sonoma County is that is offer so many small towns, each with its own flair. It’s sort of like living on a charm bracelet, with a new, glittery thing to enjoy every day.

For Petaluma, one of the most sparkly sensations of the year is annual Petaluma Antiques Faire, running this year on Sunday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Historic Downtown Petaluma is known as "The Bay Area's Premier Antique Center," and the 27th Annual Petaluma Spring Antique Faire gives a taste of why. The crowds converge as downtown transforms into an antiques marketplace of more than 180 dealers, attracting some 8,000 discerning collectors as well as first time buyers, all coming together in the area of 4th and Kentucky streets from B to Washington streets.

Part of the draw is that this is the real deal – these are authentic antiques ranging from estate jewelry, linens, furniture, and art to kitchenware, vintage décor, books and all kinds of unusual collectables, in prices that start at entirely affordable for the everyday household to museum quality.

The gathering is fun even for non-antique lovers, who browse among Petaluma's beautiful historic buildings, boutiques, and numerous restaurants and cafés, set against the lovely backdrop of the Petaluma River.

So well respected is the event, that Country Living Magazine singled it out as one of the Five Reasons to Visit Petaluma, lauding its finds like “vintage flower frogs, 1960s woven purses priced to sell at $20 or less, and late 19th Century pharmacy bottles.”

Admission is free, and plan to arrive early to enjoy breakfast ($8) prepared by the Masons, served in the Masons building.
