Mark your calendars for all of the exciting Napa and Sonoma Wine Country events coming in 2015! This month, Pure Luxury has a few suggestions for a few types of adventures in January and for a special event in Napa Valley coming in February.

Dinner with the Winemaker on the Sonoma Coast
This year marks the 29th Annual “Dinner with the Winemaker” Series at the Bay View Restaurant at Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay located on the Sonoma County coast. This month, guests are invited to enjoy a special treat on Friday, January 30th - an evening of delicious cuisine paired with wines from two award-winning Sonoma County wineries, Kosta Browne Winery, and, Trecini Cellars. The evening will be hosted by Kosta Browne’s Associate Winemaker, Nick Cueva, along with Trecini proprietors John, Kathy, and David Vicini. The menu includes two courses paired with two different releases of Kosta Browne’s impeccable Pinot Noirs. Plus, three other courses paired with Trecini Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, and sparkling Zinfandel Brut.

Winter Wineland in Northern Sonoma County
Another long-standing event taking place this month on January 17th and 18th is the 23rd Annual Winter Wineland. This incredible event invites ticket holders to select from a list of 139 participating wineries in Northern Sonoma County. Visitors will travel to each winery to delight in tastings of limited production, new releases, and library wines. Visitors will also enjoy special discounts, and the opportunity to meet winemakers. Select wineries will offer tours, and, wine and food pairings. Planning ahead is a must! The long list of amazing choices includes Balletto Vineyards’ estate wines paired with light appetizers, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates & Gardens limited production Jackson Estate and Grand Reserve wines paired with a delicious treat prepared by their estate chefs, Rodney Strong Vineyards wines in a Western setting paired with small bites created by their estate culinary team, Silver Oak Cellars wines paired with mushroom farro risotto, and much more.

Spicing it up in Napa
The Spice Islands Marketplace at the Culinary Institute of America in the Napa Valley city of Saint Helena offers a unique experience for the senses. Stocked with every wine and food gadget and tool imaginable, the Marketplace also features a Tasting Bar where visitors can enjoy flights of wine, or, wine by the glass to sip on their own or to pair with chocolate, cheese, or charcuterie. Tastings of the Institute’s super-premium olive oils are also available.

Napa Valley Restaurant Month 2015
Start planning now for Napa Valley Restaurant Month 2015 taking place throughout February! Many of Napa Valley’s finest restaurants will be offering special set-price menus for lunch and dinner. Included in the list of participating restaurants are those awarded with 2015 Michelin Bib Gourmand and Michelin Stars. For example, Bib Gourmand winner Oenotri offers a different dinner menu each week throughout February, Sunday - Thursday, to reflect specific Italian regions. Dinner includes a salad, a pasta dish, and dessert for just $39 per person. Another Bib Gourmand winnery, C Casa, invites guests to enjoy a Cabernet Drenched Short Rib Enchilada Plate served with a Caesar salad and chile crusted tortilla crispies. This special meal ends with a bourbon pecan tartlett for dessert. The amazing price throughout February is $18 per person.
Michelin Star winning, The Restaurant at Auberge, welcomes visitors Monday - Friday to delight in a two-course prix fixe lunch at a special rate of $29 per person. Bouchon Bistro, also the recipient of a Michelin Star, presents a late night Dine and Drink escapade featuring three classic, French dishes paired with the perfect beverage. Prices range from $20 - $40 per per person and exclude February 13 - 16. One last Michelin Star winner to tempt your taste buds is Solbar at Solage Calistoga. Solbar presents mid-week nightly specials Sunday through Thursday (with the exception of February 13 - 16) with a different special on each day.
