Another celebrity chef has joined the Bay Area restaurant scene, this time in Sonoma. We are pleased to hear Iron Chef television host Geoffrey Zakarian has been hired to manage and lead MacArthur Place Hotel and Spa’s new food and beverage program. If you didn’t already know, the hotel is undergoing a $20 million renovation with the vision of creating a 5-star resort. It’s been said that the new food and beverage program includes closing down Saddles, its current steakhouse, and opening three new concepts.

The new restaurant Layla will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will include Bar at MacArthur, which will serve as a casual lounge and will have an all-day menu and cocktails. Porch, the hotel’s coffee bar and market, will act as a grab-and-go cafe and retail shop.

For the unfamiliar, MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa was once a three hundred acre vineyard and ranch. Built in 1859, the estate has been transformed into a luxurious inn and spa, which provides excellent customer service in-return receiving outstanding reviews.
