In Northern California Wine Country there’s always a reason to celebrate. Beautiful landscape, outstanding cuisine, and impeccable wines abound. This month, the celebrations are in full force – just in time for the holidays. This is a time for discovery, restocking, and sharing.

Wellington Vineyards will present new releases, award-winning wines, and appetizers prepared by Kenneth Alary of Russian River Fine Foods.

The 28th Annual Holiday Open House takes place on November 25th & 26th – the two days after Thanksgiving Day. Twenty-two wineries in the Glen Ellen and Kenwood areas of Sonoma will invite guests to experience the Heart of Sonoma. This event, presented by the Heart of Sonoma Valley Winery Association, is perfect for introducing yourself to new wineries, buying wine for your wine cellar, and embracing the spirit of the season by purchasing bottles of wine as gifts for friends and family. Along with becoming acquainted with new wineries and their wines, visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the winemakers.

Taste the result of Green Farming Practices in Benziger Vineyards’ Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, & Estate Bordeaux Blends.

Kunde Family Estate, celebrating their 107th harvest this year, will be offering tastes of their sustainably farmed wines and tours of their wine caves. Paradise Ridge Winery will share delicious bites paired perfectly with their wines. St. Francis Winery & Vineyards invites visitors to sip wine by the fire, try tasty Holiday treats, and purchase special holiday etched wine bottles.

Plan plenty of time for a visit to Chateau St. Jean to enjoy the wines and to peruse a delicious selection of gifts for yourself or for someone special.

It’s impossible to visit all the wineries taking part in this special weekend. Make sure to use the weekend map and program to plan ahead. Remember, there’s always next year.
