Francis Ford Coppola Winery will be hosting a special Cabernet wine and food pairing with delicious bites created at the winery’s full-service restaurant, Rustic. At Rodney Strong Vineyards, visitors will taste Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Rockaway Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Rodney Strong Red Meritage named Symmetry. Zin Restaurant’s Executive Chef, Jeff Mall, will be cooking Oak Smoked Angus Beef Brisket Sliders with Pt. Reyes Blue Cheese & Horseradish Spread. The combination of outstanding Alexander Valley wines and sumptuous treats continues at Silver Oak Cellars where steak with a Southwest flair meets Cabernet.
Taste of Alexander Valley takes place on the 135th anniversary of Simi Winery. Visitors will enjoy listening and dancing to live music. Simi Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay will be paired with gourmet pizzas created by Simi’s Chef Eric Lee. A special dessert pizza will be paired with Simi’s Late Harvest Alexander Valley Riesling. White Oak 2009 Russian River Valley Chardonnay will be paired with Grilled Chicken served with a Mango-Pineapple Salsa. The 91 point winning 2006 White Oak Napa Valley Syrah will be paired with Grilled Sausage, Caramelized Onion, and Roasted Pepper Relish in a mini Hoagie roll. Penne Pasta in a Mushroom Cream Sauce will be paired with White Oak 2007 Napa Valley Merlot. A Dark Chocolate Mousse served with Strawberry Coulis will be paired with White Oak’s Gold Medal award-winning 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
