Two weekends in March, the 6th & 7th, and the 14th & 15th, mark the 32nd Annual Barrel Tasting in Sonoma County. During the Sonoma County Barrel Tasting, over 100 wineries will offer visitors the opportunity to sample wines from the barrel from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The popularity of this historical event is fueled by two main factors: visitors meet and talk to winemakers from the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valleys; and, visitors are able to purchase limited wines they sample from the barrels before they are bottled in order to guarantee a bottle or two of their own.
The Russian River Valley’s Porter Creek Vineyards is one winery that you can visit on both weekends.
