I have learned to respond with a skeptical attitude to the word “free.” However, this time the word “free” has me very excited! To celebrate the 32nd Annual Barrel Tasting in Sonoma County, Cellars of Sonoma in Santa Rosa’s Old Railroad Square is offering a free barrel tasting to Barrel Tasting/Wine Road participants. On March 6, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. visitors will enjoy food pairings with their barrel tastings, meet winemakers, and buy wines that have not yet been released.

This is an exciting opportunity to visit the truly unique Cellars of Sonoma. Currently, Cellars of Sonoma offers award-winning wines from nine boutique wineries. Instead of feeling like you’re in a retail store, the feeling is more like a winery tasting room but with a twist – you can taste wines from more than one winery. If you’re not participating in the 32nd Annual Barrel Tasting, you can still visit Cellars of Sonoma on March 6th and enjoy their barrel tasting for only $10 per person.
