It’s also one of the most popular parties of the year, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a meet-your-farmer cheese and brews social, featuring local talent from Gypsy Cheese Co., Pugs Leap Cheese, Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery, Tomales Farmstead Creamery, Weirauch Farm & Creamery, Devoto Orchard Ciders, FoxCraft Hard Cider, Specific Gravity Cider, Tilted Shed Ciderworks, and Woodfour Beer.

You eat, you drink, and you learn more about all the work and love that goes into sustainably managing Sonoma County’s valuable ranch land, while caring deeply for their working crews of sheep, goats, cows or Italian water buffalo. Even cider and beer producers treat their “worker” plants with great respect, maintaining precious apple orchards and hops fields, while also using local ingredients like honey, citrus and flower blossoms.

As the sun turns to dusk, guests will sit down to a gourmet spread from chefs Daniel Kedan and Marianna Gardenhire of Backyard restaurant in Forestville. Farm Trails members are supplying their fine ingredients for the supper of barbecue Stemple Creek Ranch and Twisted Horn Ranch steak, Green Star Farm pulled pork, Pozzi Ranch lamb sausage, grilled Alive & Healing tempeh, baked Tierra Vegetables heirloom beans, Black Oak Farm Project polenta with Mycopia Mushrooms maitakes, heirloom grain salad, mixed green Laguna Farm spring salad with First Light Farm pea shoots and Preston of Dry Creek olive oil, Bloomfield Organics strawberries with whipped cream and Straus Family Creamery vanilla ice cream, Daniel’s cookies, and Taylor Maid Farms coffee and tea.

Fully fueled by good food and wine, you’re them invited to take a turn on the dance floor, spinning and stomping to the “Sonomacana” sounds of Cahoots.

It’s about having fun for a good cause, too. As with the $75 ticket price, proceeds from a silent auction will benefit the non-profit Farm Trails, and help put on Sebastopol’s popular Gravenstein Apple Fair in August.
