Visitors are welcome to taste inside the tasting room, but with a view of the Mayacamas mountains, and surrounding vineyards, a table at Quivira Vineyards offers one of the best views in Sonoma County. Your winery host will pour your choice of either the Classic Dry Creek Flight, or the Rhone Flight. The Classic Dry Creek Flight features crisp Sauvignon Blancs, and dynamic Zinfandels only available at the tasting room. The Rhone Flight focuses on Quivira’s Rhone varietals, mainly consisting of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.

EXPLORE QUIVIRA’S GARDEN

estate vegetables

This Biodynamic garden with 120 raised redwood beds is home to many plant varieties, including those from Slow Food USA’s Ark of Taste’s list of endangered foods. The cornucopia of Biodynamic ingredients offers a delicious selection for dinners hosted by Quivira and their highly regarded farm-to-table restaurant partners. Dates for 2016 dinners will be announced soon! The nearly 70 fruit trees planted along the perimeter of the garden produce estate fruit that is made into preserves and offered to visitors in the tasting room along with the popular Quivira estate olive oil.

MEET THE ANIMALS

The happy farm animals raised on Quivira’s estate are also part of a sustainable process. Along with clippings from the garden and dry waste from the grape harvest, chicken and cow manure help to comprise the separate compost piles for the garden and the vineyard. Quivira keeps Biodynamic beehives in the garden under their iconic fig tree in their Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. Honey from these hives is used for estate products.
