To fully embrace the essence of Sonoma County Wines at Rodney Strong Vineyard, you need to visit their beautiful winery. In the Wine Spectator’s Sonoma Travel 2016, Rodney Strong Vineyards was named one of the top wineries to visit in all of Sonoma. With over 400 wineries to choose from in Sonoma, this well-known, family-owned and operated winery produces high quality wines that truly reflect the land they come from.
The grapes used to make Sonoma County Wines at Rodney Strong Vineyards are sourced only from Sonoma County. The vineyards and winery are Certified Sustainable which means the process from vine to glass begins with healthy vines which produce delicious grapes that are nurtured throughout the winemaking process. Winemaker Rick Sayre has been with Rodney Strong since 1979. Director of Winegrowing, Doug McIlroy is more of a newcomer, having been at the winery since 2001. They are part of a dedicated, highly skilled team that creates the fruity aroma of a Rodney Strong Pinot Noir, and the velvety tannins of a Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon for all of us to enjoy.
The winery and tasting room are nestled in Rodney Strong’s sweeping vineyards in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. There are many options for tastings and tours for guests to choose from. For guests desiring tastes of exclusive wines, many of which are only available at the winery and to club members, The Single Vineyard & Reserve Wine Tasting is a perfect choice. When the weather is right, guests can enjoy a seated Wine Flight on the Terrace. For the ultimate experience, the Food & Wine Pairing Experience on the Terrace offers a seated tasting of five bites created by the winery’s chef paired perfectly with Rodney Strong wines. For tours of the winery, guests can choose between a Self-Guided Winery Tour and the Guided Winery Tour.
Rodney Strong Vineyards also presents special events throughout the year including exclusive presentations from their team of experts, and their Summer Concert Series.
Visit Rodney Strong and discover the stellar results of dedicated craftsmanship, a commitment to sustainability, and a state-of-the-art winery.
