Sonoma Wine Country Weekend 2017 is almost here. There’s a new venue for the food and wine extravaganza this year, as the headliner Taste of Sonoma is now being held at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. The new space means expanded entertainment, too, since instead of just one day, the event now spans two days, Saturday (noon to 4 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

The marvelous food and wine line-up really requires two days, after all featuring more than 200 local wineries show off thousands of their finest bottlings, alongside table after table of superb bites from local chefs.

And for an even more posh time, there’s the Club Reserve, open to a limited number of guests to sample some of Sonoma County’s most sought-after wines. The winemakers and owners of Sonoma County’s iconic wineries will be on hand to discuss and share their limited production, reserve and award-winning wines from large format bottles, alongside VIP food pairings.

More wine immersion awaits, too, with special winemaker seminars, sommelier-led tours, and a guided blind tasting challenge. On the food side, top local chefs take the stage for cooking demonstrations and playful competitions.

The Wine Country Weekend party actually starts on Sept. 1, with exclusive lunches, dinners and barbecues at wineries all around Sonoma County, then wraps up on Sept. 3 with even more parties at area wineries.

As with any event of such grand scale, parking can be a consideration. Some 2,500 people attend Taste each year alone. So savvy guests purchase your Event Shuttle tickets to Taste of Sonoma, for easy in-and-out chauffeured rides from Pure Luxury Transportation.
