One thing that makes Sonoma’s MacLeod Family Vineyard so special is the wine. Each wine encompasses a variety of different flavors and is uniquely amazing. The 2008 Estate Sauvignon Blanc is fabulous! It is crisp with a hint of pineapple and unusually After the first sip of the 2007 Estate Zinfandel, the only word that came to mind was, “Wow!” The 2006 Merlot with its hint of cherry is not a good wine, it is a great wine! The award winning wines at MacLeod Family Vineyard have most recently received a Gold and Silver medal for their 2007 Zinfandel and 2008 Sauvignon Blanc from the North of the Gate Wine Competition. Their Sauvignon Blanc also won a Silver medal at the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Association Tasting.

wonderful.

The other thing that makes MacLeod exceptional is the wonderful group of people behind the name. In 1974, George and Greta MacLeod began to transform their newly purchased 50 acres from dry brown grass and rocks, into the MacLeod Family Vineyard. The family started a tradition of working together on every aspect of their ranch and vineyard. Today, 30 of the 50 acres are covered by vineyards.

The goal at MacLeod is to grow quality grapes and produce estate wines with a strong character while expressing the unique location of the land. MacLeod has become certified sustainable on its way to becoming organic. No herbicides or pesticides are used. Instead of pesticides, MacLeod uses the insects in its insectary.
