Looking for something special and unique for this weekend in Sonoma Wine Country? Pure Luxury has a couple of unforgettable adventures in mind. Whether your ideal experience includes a hike in beautiful Sonoma Valley, or a leisurely afternoon nibbling on cheese while tasting wine, a day or an entire weekend in distinguished Sonoma Valley is an escapade for all your senses.
Usually when one “forages” for food, the search takes place in a kitchen. For this special event, the hunt for delicious, wild mushrooms and greens that have never felt the touch of human hands takes place on the Benziger Family Winery property located on Sonoma Mountain. Led by Forage SF mushroom expert, author, and chef, Patrick Hamilton, and Chris Benziger, the hike takes visitors through the land that is carefully tended using Green Farming practices. Along with his duties as National Sales Manager, Chris also supervises Benziger Family’s ranch and the Green Farming practices that allow the property to thrive. After the quest for fresh, wild mushrooms, guests will enjoy a farm to table lunch perfectly paired with Benziger Family silky, rich, and complex Pinot Noirs.
Taking place at Sonoma Valley’s renowned Ramekins Culinary Center, this culinary adventure shines the spotlight on outstanding cheeses. This 12th annual event also features wine, craft beer, music, cooking classes, and a mac’n cheese cook off! Sample craft beers with Sonoma County homebrewer and beer blogger, Jeff Bull. Taste hard ciders with cider expert and award-winning blogger, Tom Wark. Sip on a variety of wines with Kendall-Jackson Estates Chef, Tracey Shepos.
Guest cheesemakers include local companies Gypsy Cheese Company, Pug’s Leap Cheese, and Laura Chenel’s Chevre. Wondering which Sonoma wines will be on hand for the sipping? The lineup of guest wineries includes Kendall-Jackson Winery, Gundlach Bundschu Winery & Vineyards, Hanzell Vineyards, and many more.
