The logo for Clos Du Val features their iconic Three Graces. And like the Three Graces, Clos Du Val’s winery and critically acclaimed wines bring joy and a feeling of well-being to their guests. Founded in 1972 by the Goelet family, this family-owned winery has remained small and completely dedicated to making Napa Valley wines that capture the terroir of three world-class Napa Valley appellations.
Winemaker Ted Henry, only the fourth winemaker in the four-decade history of Clos Du Val, creates wines of purity and balance from grapes grown in Clos Du Val’s estate vineyards in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, Carneros, and Yountville appellations. The 150 acre Stags Leap Vineyard land is also home to the winery.
In order to produce the wines with finesse, complexity, and balance that Clos Du Val has become known for, their team uses a variety of efforts including restoring and modernizing the winery, harvesting later to achieve optimal ripeness, reducing crop yields, increasing dappled sunlight in the vine canopy, enhancing soil fertility, utilizing new filtration methods to limit oxidation, and much more.
Guests are invited to sip these special wines for themselves through a variety of tasting and tour options. Reserve a Vineyard Cabana for a maximum of 8 people with a view of Clos Du Val’s Stags Leap Vineyard for an intimate, self guided wine tasting of four Limited Release, winery exclusive wines to savor at your own pace during this one hour experience. Reserve a table for two in a private, vineyard setting in their Stags Leap Vineyard featuring chocolate, roses, and four Clos Du Val wines. Reserve a winery tour, available seasonally, for an educational tour of the winery and cellar that includes a tasting of Clos Du Val Classic and Estate wines. For groups of eight or more, enjoy a private experience with a personal wine educator in Clos Du Val’s Pinot Noir Tank Room, or in their Stags Leap Vineyard.
Why not spend the day at Clos Du Val?! Purchase your favorite bottle (or bottles!) of Clos Du Val wine and reserve a picnic table in one of their picturesque picnic grounds located on the front lawn of the winery overlooking their Stags Leap Vineyard, or in their Olive Grove. Then play a game of Petanque, the French version of Bocce Ball, in the large court located in front of the winery.
Visit Clos Du Val and allow yourself to be charmed by the taste of Napa Valley wines and the beauty of the valley.
