Wineries Open Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

The holiday decorations celebrating Fall and the Thanksgiving tradition have been replaced by sparkling images celebrating Winter and the arrival of Christmas. With just a little over three weeks left until Christmas, a perfect gift for you and your loved ones would be a visit to Napa and Sonoma Wine Country on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Here’s our list of wineries open Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

NAPA VALLEY WINERIES OPEN CHRISTMAS EVE AND DAY
Chateau Montelena
This historic, family-owned winery was established in 1882. Chateau Montelena crafts award-winning wines while maintaining their commitment to sustainable business practices. The winery closes at noon on Christmas Eve and is closed Christmas Day.

Chimney Rock Winery
Also committed to sustainable business practices, Chimney Rock offers a diverse selection of tastings and tours to experience their world-class wines. Specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon, Chimney Rock also crafts other red and white Estate wines. Christmas Eve hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. The winery will be closed Christmas Day.

Del Dotto Vineyards
With two stunning locations to visit, Del Dotto Vineyards’ St. Helena location will be open for regular hours on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The 90 minute educational, fun, generous, tour and tasting presented by a knowledgeable host makes a visit to Del Dotto Vineyards a must-do on anyone’s list.

Freemark Abbey
Since 1985, Ted Edwards has been the winemaker at Freemark Abbey creating stunning handcrafted wines. Visit Christmas Eve between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The winery will be closed on Christmas Day.

V. Sattui Winery
This was an award-winning year for V. Sattui Winery. The winery received 2013 “Winery of Year” at Winemakers Challenge and their winemaker, Brooks Painter, received 2013 “Winemaker of the Year” at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. Open Christmas Eve from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and closed Christmas Day.

Family-owned, Certified Sustainable vineyards and winery, Rodney Strong Vineyards is passionate about their commitment to create world-class wines. Experience a tasting at the winery in Northern Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley on Christmas Eve between 10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Visit Korbel on Christmas Eve between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and choose a tour of the winery or the gardens to go along with a tasting of delicious sparkling wine.

Stryker Sonoma Winery
Located in Northern Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley, Stryker Sonoma Winery offers impeccable wines while enjoying a view of surrounding vineyards. Make this one of your stops on Christmas Eve, the winery closes early at 2:00 p.m.
