This is a special time in Napa Valley – this is Harvest. After constant watch, the grapes are now ripe and ready. These grapes have survived unpredictable weather, pests, mildew, and the occasional snacking of animals such as birds and deer. Late at night or in the early dawn when the temperature is coolest, crews pick the grapes from the vine. Then the grapes are sorted and crushed.

Although many Napa Valley wineries are extremely busy during Harvest, there are some willing to share the experience with guests or celebrate the excitement of the season with special events. Pure Luxury has picked a few to share.

Alpha Omega 2012 Harvest Tour
Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. visitors are invited by appointment to experience Harvest at Alpha Omega. They will also participate first-hand in whatever step of Harvest is occurring such as sorting, barrel punchdowns, lees stirring, or vineyard activity. This Harvest adventure is followed by a seated tasting and an optional boxed lunch in the picturesque Alpha Omega picnic grounds.
