The beautiful, dark, purple color of Pinot Noir grapes can take on hues of dark blue and black. Pinot Noir grapes are grown worldwide and Pinot Noir wines from each region vary greatly, reflecting each specific terroir. Pinot Noir grapes and vines need constant care making the creation of Pinot Noir wine a true labor of love. Pinot Noir fans appreciate the diligence and skill used by winemakers to create this popular varietal of wine.

Pinot Noir Grapes on the Vine

One event celebrating Pinot Noir has existed for almost a decade. The 9th Annual Pinot Days San Francisco Grand Festival Public Tasting presented by Bay Area Wine Project takes place Sunday June 30, 2013 at Fort Mason Center. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. winemakers and proprietors representing 140 wineries will be pouring their Pinot Noir wines from California, Oregon, New Zealand, and Burgundy. Interested in arriving early for a sit down tasting with Pinot Noir from four wineries – each sharing their best two – followed by early entrance to the Public Tasting? If so, reserve your spot for the VIP Diversity Seminar beginning at 12 p.m.

Pinot Days offers more opportunities for visitors to celebrate throughout the weekend. Choose from three incredible Focused Tastings offered Saturday June 29th, or take advantage of a weekend package combining a Focused Tasting with the VIP seminar and early entrance to the Grand Festival Public Tasting.
