Congratulations to Gary Buffo, the Founder & President of Pure Luxury Transportation for serving on the board of Sonoma Wine Country Weekend 2015 for the second year in a row, and in helping raise over three million dollars in contributions this year (triple last year’s contributions)! Gary and his wife Jennifer, Pure Luxury’s Vice-President and C.O.O, have been donating to Sonoma Wine Country Weekend for over 10 years. They believe strongly in giving back to their community, and aiding people in need.
Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is Sonoma County’s largest charity event, with over 200 top winemakers, growers, and top chefs. The signature event is produced by the Sonoma County Vintners and the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Foundation with all proceeds benefiting local Sonoma Charities. Since its beginning, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend has raised over $12 million benefiting students, children, farm workers and people in Sonoma County Communities with this year’s exact donation being $3,385,400.
Through a series of daily events spanning over one weekend a year, some of Sonoma’s most prestigious winemakers open their bottles and their vineyards for the event. Here’s a re-cap of 2015’s three days of events.
Sonoma Starlight: An evening under the stars was held at Francis Ford Coppola Winery poolside. Guests enjoyed a luxurious night of wine, food, music and dancing in the beautiful Alexander Valley.
Taste of Sonoma: A day of Sonoma’s food and wine culture held at MacMurray Estate Vineyards began with an invitation from Kate Macmurray to explore the historic estate. Paired with the perfect afternoon was some of Sonoma County’s richest wine and tastiest cuisine. The event was co-hosted by more than 200 wineries and over 60 local chefs. As if this event didn’t sound amazing already, it’s been named, “10 Best Wine and Food Events in the United States” by Celebrated Living Magazine!
Sonoma Harvest Wine Auction: The flagship of the charity weekend, The Sonoma Harvest Wine Auction brings together the wine community and caring donors needed to raise the funds to make our community better!
Again, congratulations to all that were involved in making this year one of the best year’s in helping our community!
