Napa Valley – those two words bring a flood of happy emotions as one thinks of outstanding wines, amazing restaurants, spas, and relaxing resorts and hotels. There are several towns comprising Napa Valley, each with its own personality and “nickname.” The town of Yountville, also known as the Culinary Capital of Napa Valley, features more Michelin star rated restaurants in one area than any other North American city. One event celebrating the wines and cuisine of Yountville is appropriately called, Taste of Yountville. This year, Taste of Yountville presents its 22nd annual event and, for the first time, partners with Volvo Cars of North America to present Yountville Live.
Yountville Live is a four day celebration from March 19 – 22 of wine, food, and music. The festival includes 20 live performances, wines from over 30 wineries, and food prepared by over 15 world class restaurants and award winning chefs.
The festivities begin on March 19th with a VIP Welcome Reception at Brix restaurant from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Brix is well-known for their farm-to-table French-inspired California cuisine and for their mountain views. The Welcome Reception pairs delicious food with the wines of Kelleher Family Vineyards, Swanson Vineyards, Groth Vineyards & Winery, and many more. The reception also includes a live performance by platinum selling artist Blue October. Also on March 19th, choose from one of the “Eight @ Eight Dinner” events featuring wine, food, and a performance from an up-and-coming recording artist. A few choices include:
– critically acclaimed for her live performances since finishing in third place of The Voice in its first season, Vicci Martinez performs as part of a dining experience including a menu from Hurley’s Restaurant paired with the impeccable wines from Hill Family Estate
The celebration continues on March 20th with the Afternoon of Music, Wine & Food. From 12 p.m. to 5 pm., ticketholders will be able to visit intimate venues throughout Yountville for more local cuisine, stunning wines, and live performances. Performers include alternative rock band Alpha Rev, English Indie rock band Scars on 45, and Indie Folk singer songwriter Noah Gundersen. Don’t miss the After Hours VIP Party at Bottega beginning at 10 p.m. where guests will be able to mingle with chefs, winemakers, and performers. The after party also includes a special performance from a surprise guest.
This year Taste of Yountville will be on March 21st, and includes two options. The first is a premium tasting passbook. The second is a tasting bracelet. If you choose the passbook, you’ll have access to all participating restaurants and wineries, entry to the Grand Tasting Pavilion, a tasting glass, and be able to enter the end of the day drawing. The tasting bracelet grants you entry to the Grand Tasting Pavilion, and you’ll receive a tasting glass. The 20+ participating restaurants and wineries in the passbook include Bouchon, Kollar Chocolates, Redd, Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley, Newton Vineyard, and Robert Mondavi Winery. The 20+ Grand Pavilion participants include Mustard’s Grill, NapaStyle, Foley Johnson Wines, and Grgich Hills Estate.
Start your Sunday morning with a Gospel Brunch that includes a champagne bar featuring Domaine Chandon sparkling wines and a live performance from the sister team of Larkin Poe. The festivities come to an end with another almost sold out concert, this one featuring Matt Nathanson and Colbie Caillat.
A range of tickets and packages are still available ranging from all-access 4 day pass to individual concert tickets.
